Dear students, staff, parents and community supporters:
We welcome your viewing of Sonoma Valley High School’s 2014 WASC Report. The Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) accreditation process is an ongoing school improvement process that assists a school in an in-depth look at what currently exists, and what needs to be improved in relation to the student learning and the school’s program. The basic concepts addressed in the process focus on student success in meeting Schoolwide Learner Outcomes (SLOs) and academic standards. The principle questions to be asked are:
• How are students achieving?
• Is the school doing everything possible to support high achievement for all its students?
This self-study and subsequent WASC Report represents the collaborative effort and the commitment to strive for continuous performance improvement so that all students will graduate both “college and career ready” when they leave Sonoma Valley High School.
We thank you for your continued support,
Kathleen Hawing
Former SVHS Principal
