Vision 2036
What is this work about?
-
This strategic planning process begins with a community-driven long-term vision for our district, which will guide our strategic plan and district initiatives for the next 10-15 years.
-
The vision will shape the trajectory of student learning, staff professional development, recruitment, resource allocation, and investments.
-
The vision and strategic plan will determine when and how we work in community and partner with families, where we’re asking for investment from our community, business, and philanthropic partners, and how we will evaluate our progress toward our goal
What are the outcomes of this work?
Our long-term vision will comprise of the following:
-
A Graduate Portrait: What aspirations does our community hold for our students? What knowledge and skills should they possess upon leaving SVUSD?
-
An Adult Portrait: If we aim for specific outcomes for our students, what knowledge and skills must adults within the system possess to aid their development effectively?
-
A System Portrait: To facilitate the desired growth in students and staff, what changes are necessary within our school district system to provide optimal support?
-
Renewed Core Values: What fundamental principles guide us as a system? How do these values align with our overarching vision?
How will we put this work into practice?
The visioning process will produce a cohesive graduate portrait, adult portrait, and system portrait, complemented by an updated set of district core values. The system portrait will set the foundation for our first 3-5 year strategic plan, propelling us towards the actualization of our vision. This strategic plan will set our district’s direction and priorities, with goals, strategies, actionable action steps, and metrics to monitor our progress.
