Welcome to the SVUSD Transportation Department! We are excited to support your family by providing a safe, reliable, and friendly ride for your children to and from school each day.

To help our students arrive ready to learn, the district provides bus transportation for all children who live within their school's attendance zone and beyond walking distance. Please note that if you choose to enroll your child in a school outside of your neighborhood attendance zone, you will need to provide your own transportation.

Your child's safety is our primary goal. Every SVUSD bus driver meets strict state and district standards, and our entire fleet complies with all safety laws, regulations, and inspection requirements. To ensure a safe and positive ride for everyone, students are under the authority of their bus driver and are expected to behave cooperatively. Students who do not follow these behavioral guidelines may be subject to disciplinary action.

Driving Towards a Cleaner Future: Our Electric Bus Fleet

We are excited to operate a fleet of 7 full-size, 78-passenger electric school buses, demonstrating our commitment to sustainability and the well-being of our students and community. Funded by the California Energy Commission, the Bay Area Air Quality Management District, and the Diesel Emission Reduction Act, these buses represent a significant step towards reducing emissions.

These first-generation electric school buses, introduced in 2019, offer a 100-mile range and are charged over 5 hours. Perfectly suited for our home-to-school routes (all under 85 miles), these buses are charged during off-peak hours (9:00 PM to 5:00 AM), contributing to a cleaner environment and efficient energy use.

Note guidelines and fees, including pick-up/return times, location charges, and teacher responsibilities. Ensure all approvals and details are provided. For cancellations, notify the Transportation Office immediately.

    Use this form to apply for driving a private vehicle for school functions, valid for one year or until your driver's license or insurance expires. Attach copies of your driver’s license, insurance policy, and DMV printout. Ensure all sections are completed accurately. Your insurance coverage will bear primary responsibility in case of an accident.
