Attention 8th Graders!

Today we are having an 8th grade assembly in the gym. Advisory will be extended for all to accommodate for the assembly. All sixth and seventh graders will stay with their advisory classes. Eighth graders, please go to your advisory first to check in with your advisor before heading to the gym. We will be talking about what to expect for the rest of this school year and next steps for preparing for high school!!!"

Here are the results for this week’s AHMS Weekly Poll. The question was: What's one thing you wish you had more of? Results: An overwhelming 65% of you wanted more MONEY! In second place, 17% of you wanted more free time, in third place, 14% of you wanted more knowledge, and in last place, only 4% of you wanted more fame. Hey Hornets! This week is the Great Kindness Challenge! Each day this week we will have kindness stations set up in the quad to do fun activities. In Advisory, you will receive a kindness checklist for the week. Complete at least 50% of the kindness checklist and turn it in at the kindness station on Thursday or Friday to get a prize (the first 50 students get a special prize) and be entered into the candy raffle on Friday at the end of lunch. Come on out for some fun and remember KINDNESS MATTERS

Hey Hornets! January 30th through February 3rd Leadership will be selling Valentine's Day Candy Grams all week in the quad for $1 each. They will be distributed during 6th period on February 13th! Don't forget to stop by and spread some love!!

Hey Hornets, we have a special announcement to make! Next week we will have spirit dress-up days leading up to our Candyland Themed Rally on Friday, February 3rd! Here are the spirit dress-up day themes:

Monday - Dress to Unimpress Day - wear mismatch clothing that is unimpressive

Tuesday - Decades Day - wear 1960s to 2000s themed outfits 

Wednesday - Athletes vs Mathletes Day - what do you like better, sports or academics 

Thursday - Superhero Day - dress like your favorite superhero 

Friday - Made in the Shade Day - wear sunglasses or a hat

The 8th Grade Hoodies have arrived! Stop by room 400 to pick up your pre-ordered hoodie. We have a limited amount of extra hoodies available. If you would like to purchase one, stop by room 400 to see what sizes are available along with $45 cash or check made out to AHMS.
