I was born, raised, and currently live in Sonoma. I have three children, two of which live at home and one lives in Philadelphia. I studied natural resources at Humboldt State and believe strongly in stewardship of our planet. Some of my past careers have been, fitness instructor, ropes course facilitator and program coordinator. I also owned a mobile massage company here in the valley that would do on site massage for locals, businesses, and tourists. While raising my youngest daughter and completing my teaching credential this allowed me be a mostly stay at home mom which I will always cherish. I had wanted to be a teacher when I finished college but was not sure I had the skills at that time but after 14 years of ropes courses I finally felt like I could do it. So, here I am living my dream and looking forward to a year filled with learning and growth, with a great group of students.

Experience

This is my second year teaching but, have been working in classrooms for the past 6 years as an classroom aid and substitute teacher. Last year I taught a 2/3 multiage classroom at Dunbar Elementary. I also taught outdoor education, teambuilding and leadership training at Four Winds Ropes Course in Occidental, CA for 14 years.

Special Interests

First and foremost I love spending time with my family in the outdoors riding bikes, paddle boarding, hiking. I love Science, nature, live music, and being near the ocean.
