Hello! I have taught for 30 years and Kindergarten is my favorite grade! As a Kindergarten teacher you "ignite" that initial spark for learning. I feel it is my responsibility to plant that seed, the desire to ask questions and want to know more or how or why? It is also the age where you get to see the "lights go on" when they write something and they can actually read it back to you. They are so excited they can barely contain themselves. Every time this happens it still gives me goose bumps! I really do love what I do. We do a lot of gardening and integrate technology into our classroom, such as coding. Being at school with my class is my happy place! I look forward to seeing my class every morning!

I grew up in Sacramento. My father was a doctor, my mother a teacher.  I have an older sister and two younger brothers. I received my B.A. in Ethnic Studies from U.C. Berkeley (I come from a family of CAL Bears! GO BEARS!) and my teaching credential, with an emphasis in Early Childhood Education, from Sonoma State. I also have my CLAD. Before I became a teacher I was a clothing designer with my own label, kristianna.  As a child I always wanted to be a teacher.

I love to garden (at home and at school), work on my house and enjoy the ocean. I am very interested in gardening, especially drought-resistant natives and succulents. I also enjoy spending time with my son, Matt, 24. Matt is studying Biology and is an avid tennis player, instructor and coach. Mary's, Basque french bread and Mexican food are some of my favorites! My favorite color is blue. My life is full, but rewarding!
