Here at Altimira we have a new cell phone policy. This was decided after last springs Youth Truth Survey. We understand the importance of cell phones and other electronic communications. Our goal at Altimira is to enrich the school environment and build a scholarly culture. Cell phones and other technology devices have become a distraction, interruption, an escape and a method of illegal exchange of information. Because of these issues, we have implemented a no cell phone (and other technology devices) during the entire school day. This included break, lunch and passing periods.
We have already seen a difference in how students are interacting among themselves. Please refer to the Altimira web site for consequences. Thank you for your support in helping us create a more relationship oriented and scholarly environment for our students.
