SVUSD Budget & Finances

Welcome to the comprehensive hub for our school district's financial information. Here, we aim to provide clear and easy-to-access resources, including our adopted and interim budgets, audits, and other key financial documents. We believe in transparency and want to help our community understand not only how we allocate funds to support our students and staff, but also how school budgets and finances function at a high level.

The School Budget Cycle

Our school district's budget is a continuous, year-round process driven by our commitment to fiscal responsibility and transparency.

  • June: The LCAP and Budget are adopted, and the state budget is enacted, formalizing the financial plan for the new fiscal year.

  • August: A 45-day budget update is released.

  • September: Unaudited actuals from the prior year are prepared.

  • December: The 1st Interim Financial Report is submitted.

  • January: The Governor's Budget Proposal for the next fiscal year is released, and the prior year's audit report is finalized.

  • February: The LCAP Mid-Year Update is prepared, and the planning for the next year's budget begins.

  • March: The 2nd Interim Financial Report is prepared.

  • May: The Governor's May Revise provides updated state budget information, and the 3rd Interim Financial Report is prepared.

  • June: The LCAP & Budget for the next fiscal year are adopted, completing the cycle.

This dynamic process involves careful planning, regular financial reporting, and collaboration to ensure that every dollar is used to support student success. From the initial budget proposals and updates from the state to our own interim financial reports and audits, we are dedicated to aligning our resources with our educational priorities.
