Well How Fun was our Friday??!!  RJ Palacio was great, and the color run, well, let’s just say some of you probably still have purple and orange powder still behind your ears!  Thanks so very much to the Leadership class (and Ms. Liscum) for all their hard work, and a HUGE shout out to our PTO parents who put this all together.  More prizes will be given away this week, and if you still have donations to turn in, be sure to bring them to the office.  Thanks again for your support!

Writing Faire Info:  Congratulations to all of you who entered their writing pieces in the Writing Faire. You competed against hundreds of kids from all the middle schools in Sonoma. All entries were judged by local authors and they were impressed with your writing.

Those of you who won will find your names and for what you won on the office door. You and all the other winners will be honored at The Authors’ Reception. You will get an invitation today. Congratulations!  Ms Wedell and Ms. Esch

Hey Hornets, Monday the 7th and Tuesday the 8th are the days for the chalk noontime activity.  You will be given a spot on the sidewalk that you get to color.  The theme is “Things that make you Happy”.  Come to the quad at lunch those days to participate.  Remember, it is a competition, so do your best!  Sign up in the office today and tomorrow if you want to do this fun event!  Thanks, Leadership

We have a dance coming up, next Friday, May 11th.  The dance is from 6:30 -8.  We are in DESPERATE need of chaperones!!!  Please contact Mrs. Liscum if a parent or guardian can come help.  The theme of this event is “Dance like no one is watching”.  Wear whatever you feel comfortable in from pajamas to fancy dresses, and get ready to get your glow on because the color scheme is neon/glow in the dark!  Tickets on sale next week, only $5Thanks, Leadership

 

Next week we will be honoring LGBTQ+  people whose lives had been spent in silence.

Therefore for each day next week we will feature an LGBTQ+ person in our bulletin, so be sure to listen! We will also have a table set up each day at lunch where you can sign up to participate in the Day of Silence activity happening next Thursday at break. Come by our table for more information.

 

Don’t forget that if you are wanting to try out for Cheerleading at the high school for next year, it begins tomorrow.  See Ms. Jenise in the health office for more ingo

 

And this just in:  2018-2019 SVHS Dance Team Auditions - Tuesday May 15 3:30-5 and Wednesday May 16 2:45-5.  Both days are mandatory.  Wear dance/athletic clothes, athletic shoes & or dance shoes (if you have them).  Hair needs to be pulled off of face and bring plenty of water.  There will be a meeting on Friday May 18 3:30-4:30 for those students who make the team.  Any questions contact Mrs. Regan @ mregan1@sonomaschools.org

 

 

Athletics:

Thank you so much to all the track athletes that have already turned in their jersey. For those that still have them please turn them in to Ms. Thorpe ASAP.

To the 7th grade girls track team. Ms Thorpe needs to get a team photo of you all so we can hang it above your pennant in the gym. This Friday May 11th, the photographer will be coming at 10:40 so he can take a quick team photo during advisory. If you would also like to buy an individual photo or also purchase a team photo Ms. Thorpe will have envelopes for you to take and fill out and bring back on Friday May 11th.
