Preschool

  • SVUSD offers preschool for 3 and 4-year-olds at El Verano and Sassarini Elementary Schools.

    • El Verano offers two programs, an AM program from 8-11 am, and a PM program from 12-3 pm.

    • Sassarini offers a full-day program from 8:30 am - 2:30 pm

El Verano and Sassarini use a centralized enrollment process to place students of the highest need in our preschool programs.  To start the enrollment application for preschool, please go to: New Student Registration portal

Please note that submitting a preschool enrollment application does not guarantee your child a spot in preschool. Our team of eligibility specialists will review the completed preschool application and reach out to let you know what programs they are tentatively being offered to your child.

Expanded Transitional Kindergarten

  • Sonoma Valley Unified School District (SVUSD) is expanding its Transitional Kindergarten (TK) programs for the 2024-2025 school year. TK is a high-quality early learning program the year before kindergarten. Classrooms are language-rich, joyful, and promote learning through play, social emotional growth, and self-regulation skills.

For 2024-2025, students who turn 5 years old between September 2, 2024 and June 2, 2025 are eligible to enroll in transitional kindergarten.

Each of our elementary schools will have at least one TK class for the upcoming school year, and we encourage families to register early.  To accommodate all who register for TK and fall within the window, additional classes may be opened depending on enrollment.  Please note that due to TK classes reaching capacity at 20, you may be assigned to a District TK classroom at a school other than your neighborhood school. If you are assigned to a district school other than your neighborhood school for TK, it will be specific to the TK school year and you will return to your neighborhood school for Kindergarten.
