RSP Learning Lab

Course Description:

Welcome to Learning Lab! This class is designed to help students learn study skills and organization strategies that will help them be successful students.  The theme of Learning Lab is Social Studies.  Students will be applying learning strategies and study techniques while working on world history, geography, and current event units.  Learning Lab is also a class where students will get assistance with homework and classwork from their other classes such as Math, Language Arts, and Science.  Since this class is also part of the Resource Program, students will also be working on their IEP goals and objectives.

Grading:

Students will be graded on daily planner checks, weekly binder checks (see attached paper for guidelines), Daily Contract grades, parent signatures on weekly grade printouts, and lessons completed in class.  Grades for this class will be posted on School Loop.

Homework Expectations:

The homework for Learning Lab is to get weekly grade printouts signed by a parent/guardian.  They will be given to the student at the beginning of the week (Monday or Tuesday) and are due at the end of the week (Thursday or Friday).  Students are also expected to complete homework from other classes both in Learning Lab and at home.  Please check your student’s planner each night and remind them to finish their homework each night.  Students usually have homework to finish at home because we do not have enough time to finish it all in Learning Lab.
