It is with very mixed feelings that I announce I will be leaving my position at SVHS at the end of the year to become Principal of Petaluma High School, my alma mater. I apologize for the timing and doing this via email but announcements will be made this morning to the Petaluma staff and SVUSD needs to notify the community and get started on their search ASAP. This decision was incredibly difficult as I have discovered what you already know, Sonoma is a very special place. I am beyond grateful for the year I have spent with you. I couldn’t be more impressed with your caring, passion, and dedication to the students, the school, and the district. My experience at Sonoma led me to recognize my desire to serve my home community, as so many of you do, and I felt I could not pass on the opportunity when multiple positions opened. Thank you for all you have done this year for me, the students, each other, and the school. I have appreciated the opportunity to spend the year with you and know only great things are in store for SVHS. I am committed to making sure things are taken care of to the best of my ability before I leave so your next Principal can hit the ground running with you.
